Better than Spanx!?

I bought this skirt at a local boutique. I was really excited bc I’ve heard of the brand before, but never got to try it out!

The brand is, Commando, and it is a brand similar to Spanx. They make a lot of different clothing items, but in general they are there to make women look good in what they are wearing! At the store I was at they had this skirt and some of their leggings.

Ok, so I give this a 10/10! It really holds you in and is super flattering. I paired it with a girly sweater from Forever21, and I love this look!

Happy 20/20! I took a break from posting in December, however I did snap a few outfits I wore this month. The holiday party that was the fanciest got canceled due to a snowstorm and I was so bummed not to wear the dress I planned but will probably post pictures of it regardless (stay tuned!) However, the dress I wore for NYE was really fun and only 50.00 on ASOS!

Today we had a luncheon to attend. It was such a pretty spring day I was so happy to style a fun skirt!

My top is Forever21 but older and the skirt is Target, you can find it in stores currently! I paired it with the Target pink heels to give all the black and white a pop of color.

A day in LA

My husband and I had one day to spend in LA before we headed to Hawaii. We definitely had to check out where all my Bravo shows take place, shop a little and eat! It was actually rainy and cold the day we visited so even though I had a dress planned to wear during the day I ended up in AE jeans, Marc Fisher boots and a Nordstrom leather jacket! My bodysuit is from Forever21. Sunglasses are from Target!

This dress is from Asos, on sale and fits true to size. I had to wear my jacket and paired it with my Nine West wedges.

Windsor Midi Dress

Happy Weekend!

Last night we had a very special event for my husband’s work. He did a great job! The dress code was business attire. For me I wanted to look appropriate for the evening but business causal for me can still be fun! I found this dress at Windsor in the sale rack for 7.00 dollars! It was really comfortable and easy to wear. I added a belt and some pink heels from Target! Also, not pictured were some pink earrings that matched the shoes.

Next up was an outfit I wore out to a dinner with some friends. Something I really love are black jeans. They are a little bit more dressier than your normal blue jeans but are just as comfortable! I paired them with my Marc Fisher boots and an old blazer from Forever21.

And last! We lost power over the weekend and it was FREEZING in our home! I have some really expensive winter boots but I kept pulling out these Khombu boots out! I also got a lot of compliments on them outside of the house! I found these at TJ Maxx, but you can also look online for these boots. I think they compare to Sorels for half the price!

Happy New Year! I know for me personally, I was ready to say goodbye to 2018. I am looking forward to a fresh start in 2019!

For Christmas dinner my family dress code is causal in comparison to Christmas Eve. I decided to wear my American Eagle jeans with a Forever21 emerald green body suit. The jacket is old Forever21 and my boots are Marc Fisher (so comfortable!)

For New Years Eve, I literally went onto ASOS website and typed in Midi Velvet dress. I was really feeling the velvet this holiday season! This hot pink dress popped up and it was exactly what I was looking for. It had a little bit of stretch to it, and I was super comfortable in it all night long. I recommend this dress if you have a special occasion coming up! Asos can be very overwhelming. I always type in what type of dress I am looking for and sort from low to high price. They are always marking things way down. This dress was only 24.00!

Holiday Outfits

Sorry for the brief break! ❤️

Below are two outfits I’ve worn, with the same black tights and maroon booties from Old Navy.

First is from Thanksgiving Day.

Everything is from Forever21 but the tights and shoes! Super warm and comfortable to wear. I love black tights in the winter, they keep you from freezing but you can still wear cute skirts. The jacket is a tuxedo style jacket that I have had forever21 and never ever wear! I recommend picking one up to throw over dressier outfits when you want to stay warm.

This next outfit was for a holiday party in our neighborhood. It isn’t a super dressy occasion but you wouldn’t want to wear jeans either! I have his plaid shirt dress from TJ Maxx with the same tights and Old Navy booties. Super easy to wear!

Easy Halloween Costume Idea

This is what I wore over the weekend that included a quick and easy Halloween costume! 🎃

First up, our family took a long walk Saturday morning bc fall is in full swing and it was absolutely beautiful this day.

I am wearing Lululemon pants and vest, Target shirt, Addidas shoes and Quay sunglasses.

That evening we celebrated a family members birthday. It was chilly in the evening and I didn’t want to self tan 😂 so I pulled out my favorite black boots, black skirt from Forever21 and black/gold turtleneck form Forever21. If you don’t know what to wear, wear all black! This was easy to chase my kids around in as well!

Finally, we had a family Halloween celebration to attend. I love Halloween so I was game to dress up with the kids! I didn’t put a lot of money or effort into this, and you could take it as far as you want to! I’m a 🤓 nerd if you’re wondering! How to accidentally look like a Happy Meal 😆

I paired a red bodysuit (Forever21) and my favorite yellow skirt (Target) together for a religious service last week. I thought the red and yellow were really a great contrast and popped! However, as I looked back on the photos my son took for this blog (thanks, Noah!) I realized I’m sporting some McDonald’s colors here big time! You could actually make this into a cute Halloween outfit, just add a golden arch headband and your all set! 😂

In all seriousness, I do like bright colors paired together like this when you don’t really know what to wear! I did add patterned shoes to break up the solids a little bit!

Next up was an outfit I put together for my husbands work event. It was actually feeling a lot cooler this evening and so I got to break out my favorite knee high boots! I wore them with this patterned black and white dress from Forever21 and I paired it with a simple black belt. I would not pair these boots (Marshalls) with anything shorter than this dress, especially in a professional environment. The belt helps break up the bold pattern.

As you can see the temperature has changed dramatically in a few days! I’m here for Fall though, bring it on!

What I wore: Anniversary Getaway

When you have small children it’s hard to make time to get away for more than a couple of hours! Luckily, we had wonderful family members who babysat for us so we could travel an hour from our home and spend some time together for our anniversary.

I found this lovely historic bed and breakfast to stay at while we explored the small town and the wineries it had to offer. The Inn at Crescent Lake

The first night was our official anniversary dinner at The Elms Hotel. I wore this two piece fitted skirt and top, and actually got a lot of compliments on it! It does look like a dress, but it’s two separate pieces which made it even more comfortable to wear! My heels are 10 years old, but proved to be comfortable enough to walk in while ghost hunting at the hotel! Yes I have a slight passion for haunted hotels. My earrings are from Target. The crop and skirt set is Joe & Elle brand but I found it at Marshalls.

The next day we explored the grounds of the B&B and did some shopping in their downtown. I wore this button down striped top from Forever21, with a high waisted denim skirt from Target. My red sandals are also from Target! I love this skirt bc it’s longer in the back so it keeps me covered! The stripes are still holding on in my wardrobe attire as you can see!

That evening we took a wine trolley to a couple wineries in the area. I wore a Merlot (Ha!) colored two piece skirt and top from Marshall’s (same Joe & Elle) brand. Once again the separates are just really comfortable and this skirt and top were great quality. I had to wear my Nine West wedges bc I wasn’t sure how intense the tour was! We had such a fun time meeting new friends and checking out local vineyards.

Last, we had a final gourmet breakfast together and had to head back home. This day I threw on another shorts/maxi dress combo! This one also from Marshall’s is floral, light weight and off the shoulders. Super comfortable for the car, but nice to wear to a fancy breakfast.
